I have files that I want to put into the Common Application Data folder. I have inserted them in the Files and Folders "Common Application Data" folder. Unfortunately, access was denied to that folder when the program tried to read the files. I went back to the permissions and tried to grant permissions to the generic username Everyone.

However, I can open AppData from Windows.old and it offers me Local And Roaming. However, the LOCAL directory also doesn't contain the profiles I had there when using the product under Anniversary version. I thought that there were places where a program could place SDF files that all users could access and have rights to. The ProgramData directory was I thought that place. But as someone pointed out the fact that the installer adds the file as Admin whereas the users of the app have restricted rights goes to show you there is a fly in the oinment. Our clients are frequently reporting issue that they are getting "Access Denied" exception when they used to run application that has been installed with downloaded setup file.

Although you can give yourself privileges, it would be easier if you take ownership of that directory at once.
